From Sand to Sea

The desert taught me silence. The ocean taught me surrender. For years I followed horses across sand — that ancient, patient stage where every hoofprint is a monument. Water does the opposite. Water takes.

The moment a hoof strikes the shallows, the world detonates — spray and light and force collide in a fraction of a second that will never exist again. There is no archive. No scripture. Only the explosion, and then the sea smoothing itself back to glass as if nothing happened.

The moment of collision. Hoof meets water. The world explodes. These are the most violent, percussive images — hooves striking the shallows, spray erupting skyward, the surface of the water shattered like glass.

The Wave — The Immersion
The horse is now in the water, not merely striking it. Motion blur becomes the dominant language. Figures dissolve into chromatic abstraction — amber and teal bleeding together as the boundary between animal and element erodes.

The Shore — The Stillness
The contemplative counter-weight. A horse standing at the waterline, reflected in wet sand. The quietest works — where the violence of the first chapters gives way to a luminous, golden-hour calm at the edge of the known world.

The horse defeats the element and returns to the air. Triumphant, cathartic works — the crescendo after the collision. Spray hangs in the air like a crown. The horse rises from the sea like a figure from myth.
